Dynamic Stretching with Limited Space

While it’s widely accepted that dynamic stretching is much safer (and much more effective) that the old standard static stretching, it can be hard to find the space needed for a proper dynamic stretching routine with a class of 50 students.  In cardio/health, we’ve adopted a model in which the students form lines and complete a stretching routine while moving back and forth across a 60ft x 60ft square.  It’s not a perfect system but it seems to be working pretty well.  Check out this Runner’s World video that will show you some of the stretches we complete every day: Butt Kicks, Toy Soldiers (aka Frankensteins), and Walking Lunges.
